Andres Moreno
Andres founded Open English in 2006. He began his career in his native Venezuela, co-founding Optimal English, a company that provided the Latin American executives of Fortune 500 companies, such as Procter and Gamble, Sun Microsystems, and Cargill, with one-on-one English-language training. He went on to develop innovative technologies and techniques that became the Open English platform. He pursued a degree in product engineering from the Universidad Simón Bolívar before setting his sights on entrepreneurship.

Thomas "Tigre" Wenrich
Tigre is a multicultural executive with international experience in finance, marketing, and operations. After a successful career as partner with The Boston Consulting Group in the U.S., Spain, and Mexico, he retired to Miami, Florida, where he subsequently participated in a roll-up in the retail money service business (remittances, check cashing, and payday advance). After selling his stores in early 2009, Tigre joined Open English in August. Born in the Dominican Republic, Tigre holds a B.A. from Stanford University.
Mario Cordon
Mario joined Open English after holding the position of vice president of marketing and sales at Kaplan Virtual Education. Previously, he held the position of senior director of direct marketing at Office Depot and the senior manager of strategy at Gateway. Mario attended the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and Lehigh University. He also attended Duke University's business school.
Wade Britt
Wade most recently served as Kaplan University's vice president of international, where he was responsible for a new division at the university. He previously ran academic operations for Kaplan. Wade started his career with DHL, where he worked in a number of international positions, including national operations manager for India and area operations manager for Southeast Asia. He holds a B.A. and an MBA from the University of South Carolina and speaks English, French, Norwegian, and Swedish.
Wilmer Sarmiento
Wilmer first teamed with Andres Moreno while the two were engineering students at the Universidad Simon Bolivar (USB) in Caracas, Venezuela. Wilmer became the chief architect for the online learning platform and was heading up infrastructure research and framework validation, his specialty.
Wilmer has a degree in Computer Engineering from USB, having achieved the highest GPA in the history of the department. Without a day of traditional classroom training, Wilmer has also taught himself English, largely through the development of the Online School of Open English.
Nicolette Moreno
Nicolette leads product development for Open English. She is one of the company's founders and has held several positions in the company. Most recently, she oversaw the live instruction department growing the team to almost 100 teachers.
Prior to Open English, Nicolette was a member of the Micro-Enterprise Development group at World Vision International, the largest Christian nonprofit in the world. She also worked as an Equity Trader for Doheny Asset Management ($500M under management). She graduated cum laude from Pepperdine University.
Pupo Neto
Before joining Open English, Pupo Neto dedicated the last three years of his career to marketing and digital product development for UOL, Brazil's leading portal in audience and Internet services. He built his work in various marketing segments, with his current focus being online products. Pupo has lead marketing teams at companies like Volvo, The Apothecary and Nissan.
James Nation
Upon joining Open English in February 2009, James assumed responsibility for the company's first call center in Caracas, Venezuela. He led the implementation of the saleforce.com CRM platform and the outsourcing and growth of the company's call center operation. James is currently designing the international expansion plan for future Open English service centers.
Prior to Open English, James spent 13 years at Citigroup Inc., most recently overseeing a trilingual contact center in Tampa, Florida (Spanish, Portuguese, and English) for 83,000 high-profile international clients.
He was born in Gainesville, Florida, but grew up in Venezuela. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Universidad Jose Maria Vargas and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Kenny Vivas
Kenny was a founding member of the development team that created Open English and has played a key role in the design of the web page. He is currently in charge of all customer technical support. Kenny has an engineering degree from the Universidad Simón Bolívar.
